Welcome!

My wife and I maintain this blog to help people with celiac disease or gluten intolerance find useful information.

On August 6, 2009, our then 4-year-old daughter, Ava, was diagnosed with celiac disease following an endoscopic biopsy at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

You may like to read our story.

Since then, we have been trying all kinds of gluten-free foods and recipes, and learning a great deal in the process. While researching celiac disease and the required gluten-free lifestyle changes, we found there was not a lot of information for the Midwestern United States. So we decided a blog would be a good way to share what we learn.

We look forward to embarking on this journey together. Here we go!
